President Obama's Schedule For Cannes G20

Bilaterals with Merkel, Sarkozy, Kirchner...
President Obama departs the White House this evening at 6:45 PM to travel to the G20 Summit in Cannes, France, the fifth G20 he has attended since taking office. The President will have at least three bilateral meetings during the summit, according to the White House. Click here for the White House briefing on the trip.

On Thursday, the President will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, whom he honored with a State Dinner last June, and with French President Nicolas Sarkozy (who he sent to Ben's Chili Bowl during one White House visit).

"These are obviously the two largest economies in the Eurozone and two leaders that the president has been in very close contact with over the last weeks and months," National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes told reporters on Monday.

There will also be a working lunch and a working dinner with G20 leaders.

The President will hold a news conference on Friday, the White House said, before he returns to Washington.
