The President's birthday week saw the completion of the debt-ceiling deal with Congress, and today, a downgrade of America's credit rating from triple A to AA+ by credit agency Standard & Poor's. The US stock market plummeted by more than 500 points before closing.
The only event noted on the President's daily schedule for August 4th was a 10:30 AM Presidential Daily Briefing; a press lid was called at 4:00 PM. By 5:00 PM, guests were arriving at the White House for the President's closed-press "casual" but "fabulous" birthday party in the Rose Garden and East Room; exclusive details from inside the event were posted here at Obama Foodorama. No photos were released from the party.
