President Obama on Monday designated $105 million in humanitarian aid for the drought-created famine in the Horn of Africa, and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will speak about the crisis at the International Food Policy Research Institute at 11:00 AM ET on Thursday, August 11. The President and Clinton will meet this afternoon in the Oval Office at 3:35 PM, and tomorrow Clinton will "discuss the ongoing international humanitarian response, as well as how the crisis in the Horn of Africa shows the urgency of investing in sustained food security through efforts such as Feed the Future," according to the State Department.
